If Trump wants, the conflict in Ukraine will end quickly, says Türkiye President Erdoğan

Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that more weapons won’t end Ukraine war.

Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he is confident that a quick resolution to the conflict in Ukraine is possible, provided that the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump demonstrates the necessary will and intention.

“We worked with Trump during his previous term. Despite occasional disagreements, the partnership model between Türkiye and the US is undeniable,” Erdoğan said.

“The efforts of some Western countries, led by the United States, to end the war in Ukraine will speed up the resolution of this conflict. From the very beginning, we chose the side of peace, we ignored attempts to persuade us to take sides in the war and maintained contact with both sides. We also saw that the West does not sufficiently share our confidence that this problem can be solved through diplomacy. If we see that the US administration in the Trump era approaches this issue from the position of settlement, then we can easily end this war,” Erdoğan said while answering journalists’ questions on board his plane upon his return from Budapest.

The Türkiye leader stressed that “more weapons, more bombs, and more chaos will not end this war.” “More dialogue, more diplomacy and more agreement open the door to peace. Türkiye has managed to bring both sides to the negotiating table. We have done it many times and we can do it again. This war must end now. We have focused our efforts on achieving peace and will continue to work in this direction,” Erdoğan added. Anadolu Agency reports.
