Iran accuses US of coordinating with terrorist groups in northern Syria

Terrorist groups that have stepped up their activities in northern Syria are working in coordination with the United States , Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said.

Esmail Baghaei said that The coincidence of this with the ceasefire in Lebanon and the statements of the US authorities that they do not feel any threats from these groups, indicate that there is coordination between these terrorists and the US.

The standoff between rebels and the army continues in Syria. According to analysts, government forces have lost control of Aleppo for the first time since 2012. Militants have captured at least two airbases, where the Syrian army abandoned weapons and equipment, including Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense missile systems and Uragan multiple rocket launchers with full ammunition.

According to Almayadeen, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei Hamaneh raised alarms on Thursday over the resurgence of Takfiri terrorist groups in Syria, urging decisive and coordinated regional efforts to prevent the spread of terrorism.

In a statement, Baghaei strongly condemned recent terrorist activities, operations orchestrated as part of a broader destabilization plan led by the “United States and the Israel.”

On December 1, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US administration was not surprised by the terrorist group’s attack in Syria. He noted that the militant attacks were an expected consequence of the changes in the regional balance of power.
