Israeli aircraft intercepted a missile launched from Yemen. This was reported by the Israel Defense Forces IDF on its Telegram channel.
The missile was reportedly destroyed before it reached Israel’s occupied territory, and therefore no air raid siren was sounded in anticipation of its approach.
On September 26, Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced the start of a new phase of operations in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip against Israel.
Immediately after, Israel launched airstrikes on Houthi military targets in Yemen. According to an IDF, the operation involved fighter jets, tanker aircraft, and reconnaissance aircraft from the Israeli Air Force. They attacked Houthi military targets 1,800 km from Israeli territory.
Amid the war between Israel-Hezbollah conflict, in the Gaza Strip, Yemeni Houthi rebels have been attacking commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea since early October 2023, using drones and missiles.
The Houthis claim that they only target ships calling at Israeli ports or those whose owners have ties to Israel. However, their actions have begun to disrupt international shipping.
Earlier, Arab sources reported that Israel violated the ceasefire with Lebanon 155 times in two weeks.
