Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Palestinian prisoners poisoned in Israeli jail amid rising cruelty

It is reported that Palestinian prisoners were poisoned in an Israeli prison as a result of spoiled food distributed by the administration. This is not the first time this incident has taken place.

The systematic torture and cruelty in Israeli prisons are not only escalating but also becoming much more violent than before. The Prisoners and Releasees Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization reported that it was confirmed that 9 Palestinians, who are held in Etzion Prison in the south of the occupied West Bank, were poisoned, and added that all Palestinians held in the jail are considered to be in danger of being poisoned.

Palestinian Prisoners Poisoned by Food “This isn’t the first poisoning case that takes place in Etzion Prison. For years, Palestinians incarcerated in the Etzion Prison have experienced cases of poisoning.”

According to PressTV, the commission accused the prison administration of “deliberately subjecting detainees to harsh punishment since the start of the [Israeli] onslaught on Gaza. This includes prolonged hunger, providing poor-quality meals in both quantity and quality, and subjecting those who protest to severe beatings and solitary confinement.”

Emani Serahine, Press Officer of the Palestinian Prisoners Association said that “Etzion Prison is an investigation center” “Currently there are 111 Palestinians here.”

There has been a rise in detentions, raids, and attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since Israeli forces began assaulting the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

The number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem after October 7, 2023, has reached over 11,900, the report said.
