US President-elect Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the conflict in Ukraine was the result of the “abject failure” of current US President Joe Biden.
It was a total failure that Biden had, and it could not have happened if we had a real president who knew what he was doing, Trump added, considering that as a result of Biden’s actions, people are dying now and cities are being destroyed.
In the same context, Trump expressed his understanding of Russia’s position opposing Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
For many years, even before President Putin, Russia said NATO could never interfere in Ukraine, it was like it was carved in stone, Trump added. But Biden said they should be able to join NATO, which puts NATO right on Russia’s doorstep. I can understand their feelings on that.
He noted that he was “aware of Putin’s readiness to communicate with him,” but considered it “unacceptable” before his official return to the White House, promising that he “could achieve a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict through negotiations in one day.”
The editorial board of the American newspaper “Washington Post” published an article today, in which it talks about the reality of the war in Ukraine and the latest developments on the ground, and about the deal of the US President-elect Trump to end the war .
