Taiwan will not be able to resist China in the air

Taiwan is unlikely to be able to counter China’s military air superiority. This was reported by the American newspaper The Washington Post with reference to secret Pentagon documents leaked on the network. As the publication clarifies, Taiwan is extremely vulnerable to the superiority of the Chinese air force.

In its publication, the Washington Post draws attention to another important detail. Namely, China’s use of civilian ships for military purposes. The newspaper believes that such tactics by the PRC have become an obstacle for US intelligence agencies to detect possible preparations by Beijing for an invasion.

In general, secret Pentagon documents leaked on the web do not add to the optimism of Taiwan independence supporters. According to the Washington Post, the island does not have much confidence in the strength of its air defense system. In particular, the military is skeptical of the ability of Taiwan’s air defenses to accurately detect missile launches. And besides, only half of the planes available to the Taiwanese air force are capable of carrying out combat missions.

To be fair, the Washington Post publication bears a strong resemblance to Western media reports of the Ukrainian military’s unpreparedness for a counteroffensive. This once again casts doubt on the authenticity of the secret US Department of Defense documents leaked to the Network. One has the impression that the United States wants to convince both Russia and China of the weakness of their adversaries.
