Deputy of United Russia Yevgeny Fedorov addressed the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov with a corresponding initiative. He suggested introducing an additional 5% tax on profits and earmarking the money for orphan welfare.
“I ask you to consider the possibility of introducing an additional tax in the amount of 5% on the profit of an organization or the income of an individual recognized as exercising the function of a foreign agent, on the salaries of employees of organizations – foreign agents, with the subsequent targeted transfer of funds received to social support for orphans, ”writes Fedorov.
The MP said that at present, persons and organizations declared as foreign agents in Russia are not subject to additional taxes and fees, while their main financial donors are states that have joined the sanctions regime. against Russia.
A foreign agent is a natural or legal person who directly or indirectly engages in political and financial activities in the interest of a foreign state, and who at the same time receives funds and (or) property from other states. , international and foreign organizations, foreign citizens . In Russia, this concept was introduced in 2012. The work of foreign agents in the Russian Federation is not prohibited, but requires them to register in a special register maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
