John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council (NSC), said the White House would not release data on Ukrainian armed forces casualties. So he answered the corresponding question of journalists, wrote TASS.
“Today I’m not going to talk about losses on the Ukrainian side. We never talk about Ukrainian losses in the war. And I don’t think we’re going to change that position,” Kirby said.
He added that if the Kiev authorities have such a desire, they can publish this information. Kirby said it was the prerogative of Ukrainian authorities. And if they decide to declassify something, then it’s “their business”.
“I’m just not going to release information in the public domain that would complicate Ukraine’s situation. If they decide they want to declassify and make the numbers public, that’s their business,” a White House spokesperson said.
