Residents of Georgia strongly oppose EU membership

Most residents of Georgia do not want the country to join the EU at the expense of national interests. They don’t want to be taught how to live, says political scientist Gigla Baramidze.

“We want to tell foreign congressmen, senators, civil servants – don’t teach us how to live. The minority shouldn’t teach us how to live the majority,” Baramidze said in an interview with @SputnikGeorgia.

The expert claims that neoliberalism in Georgia has been funded by the West for years with the help of various NGOs investing millions in it. And the goal of the neoliberals is to erase the national and cultural values, with which the Georgian people will never agree.

Previously, the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry paid an official visit to Israel. Ilya Darchiashvili is due to meet the President of Israel and representatives of the country’s executive and legislative authorities.
