The FSB of Russia has stopped the preparation of assassination attempts by the intelligence network of military intelligence of Ukraine on the leaders of Crimea. “The FSB of the Russian Federation stopped the activities of the intelligence network of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GUR MO) of Ukraine, which planned to carry out a series of acts of sabotage and terrorism high profile in the territory of the Republic of Crimea,” the CSO said in a statement.
As reported in the FSB, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, the speaker of the parliament of the republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, and the mayor of Yalta, Yanina Pavlenko, were chosen as targets of encroachment.
According to the intelligence service, the “targets of the terrorist attacks in preparation” were objects of the Crimean transport infrastructure.
“It has been established that the direct organizer of the terrorist attacks and the coordinator of the preparation of the murders of high officials is a close connection with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, an officer of the active reserve of military intelligence Roman Mashovets, who has been the deputy chief of staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensyy since 2020,” noted the CSO of the FSB. .
According to the intelligence service, members of a deeply clandestine intelligence group of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, operating on the peninsula, were arrested in the area of the events. Among the detainees are six Russian and Ukrainian citizens, as well as a Ukrainian and Bulgarian citizen, who, as clarified by the FSB, was involved in the transfer of explosives and components of explosive devices.
The department also reported that the supply of British explosives and explosive device components from Bulgaria via Turkey and Georgia to Russia under the guise of supplying electric cookers has been cut off.
