Iran calls on UN security council to impose sanctions on Israel

The UN Security Council must take action and impose sanctions for the continuation of the war and bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says at a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions in Tehran.

The UN Security Council is obliged to take measures against this regime for its desire to continue the war and bloodshed in Gaza, Lebanon, and impose tough sanctions against it in accordance with Article 7 of the UN Charter, Tehran Times quotes Araghchi as saying. As the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry noted, the continuation of Israel’s military adventures in the Middle East creates a security threat not only in the region but throughout the world.

Earlier, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, reported during a press conference that Iran, together with Turkey, continues to negotiate with some countries on the introduction of an embargo on arms supplies to Israel.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at a meeting with the heads of the Foreign Ministries of Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Armenia in Istanbul, stated the need for the UN to impose an arms embargo against Israel. On October 24, at a meeting at the “BRICS  summit in Kazan, the Turkish leader called on the participants and partners of the association to support this idea of ​​Ankara.
