Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Xi Jinping’s ‘hidden’ congratulations to Trump: message or secret phone call?

Chinese Foreign Ministry denies reports of a phone call, raising questions about the nature of Xi’s congratulatory message to Trump.

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent Donald Trump a congratulatory message on his victory in the 2024 US election, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning, answering a question about how the Chinese leader congratulated Trump – by phone or by sending a congratulatory message.

“Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Trump on his election as president,” Mao Ning said.

Xinhua reported that in his congratulatory message to Trump, Xi Jinping said stable, healthy, and sustainable relations between Beijing and Washington are in line with the interests of China and the United States. He expressed hope that China and the United States would properly manage differences and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.

Earlier, CNN reported, citing sources, that Xi Jinping allegedly held telephone talks with Trump after the 2024 US election.

Xi Jinping is said to have congratulated Trump on his election victory. However, according to CNN, when asked about the call, the Chinese Embassy in Washington said it had no information to comment, TASS reports.
