An air alert has been declared in Ukraine. Russia fired missiles

Almost throughout Ukraine on Friday morning an air raid alert was announced. The Russian military fired missiles from long-range bombers and ships.

The energy company DTEK, in connection with the threat of an infrastructure strike, has started preemptively cutting off the power supply in a number of areas, including Kiev.

The publication “Suspilne” reported on the explosions in Krivoy Rog. According to telegram channels, explosions also occurred in Odessa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Khmelnytsky regions and Kiev. We are talking about both the operation of air defense systems and the destruction of certain objects by missiles. The Ukrenergo company announced the defeat of several energy infrastructure facilities in the east, west and south of the country. There are no casualty reports yet.

On the night of February 10, attacks were reportedly carried out on Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. Shahed drones were also used. According to Anatoly Kurtev, secretary of the Zaporizhia city council, “17 enemy ‘arrivals'” have been registered in the city. According to him, this is the highest number since the start of a large-scale invasion. Energy infrastructure was affected, no casualties were reported.

Over the past few months, Russia, at intervals of about 10-14 days, has launched massive missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine. Typically, energy infrastructure is affected, leading to power outages across the country. Despite the damage to Ukraine’s energy system, it was not possible to completely disable it as a result of the strikes.

While Russian authorities say they are not aiming at civilian targets, rockets or rocket debris have hit residential buildings. Most of the casualties among the civilian population – more than 40 – were in the city of Dnipro in January, when the entire entrance to a multi-storey building was destroyed by rocket fire.
