Ukraine hopes for a multi-year IMF support program worth at least $15 billion, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said after a meeting with the head of the International Monetary Fund.
Kiev’s talks with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva came three days after the IMF announced that staff-level agreements had been reached with Ukraine, laying the groundwork for negotiations on a loan program fully fledged.
Shmyhal said the program will consist of two parts – immediate financial aid and support for structural reforms, which will support the country’s reconstruction efforts after the end of the conflict.
