The United States Department of Justice has launched an investigation into what is believed to be a leak of secret Pentagon documents containing information about Western military assistance to the Kiev regime and a special Russian military operation. This is reported by the main American media, citing a representative of the department.
“We are in contact with the US Department of Defense about this and have initiated proceedings. We decline to comment further,” the Associated Press news agency and CBS carried a statement from the US Department of Justice.
According to The Washington Post, the control relates to documents that have been published on social networks. They provide information about the special operation, as well as the state of Russian and Ukrainian troops. In addition, the documents contain information on China, as well as countries in the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East.
According to the publication, “hundreds, if not thousands” of specialists among US military department employees had access to the documents. WP also reports that in the materials posted on the World Wide Web, in particular, one can find data on the deployment of air defense systems of the Ukrainian nationalists, on the expenditure of artillery shells by the militants, as well as assessments of the situation around Artemivsk.
