The information spread on social networks about the shipment of military equipment from Kazakhstan to Ukraine is false, declared Kazakh Ministry of Defense in its telegram channel.
The department pointed out that the video released for the transport of Kazakh military equipment to Ukraine is in fact an archive – it was filmed sending armored vehicles for scheduled repairs. “Currently, it is in storage,” assured the Department of Defense of the republic.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan recalled that since August 27, 2022, the authorities of the country have prohibited the export of all weapons and military equipment from it.
Similar Rebuttal Ministry published in September 2022, when the same video of weapons being carried was posted on social media. Then, when reposting the video, social media users claimed that military equipment was being transported to Russia by agreement between the two countries’ presidents, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin.
The comment of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan was published on the stopfake.kz site, created to expose fake news with the participation of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic. The press release indicates that the Kazakh Ministry of Defense was transferring equipment to participate in the exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) “Interaction-2022”, “Poisk-2022” and “Echelon-2022”, which took place in the Zhambyl and Alma-Ata Regions from September 26 to October 8.
