The 80-year-old president made the confession seconds after joking that House Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffreys, a black man, was no longer speaking to him.”I know where the power is…you think I’m kidding,” he told someone in the audience. “I’ve known the Divine Nine for a long time,” Biden said, referring to a group of African Americans. fraternities and sororities.“When he first showed up, I campaigned for him (Jeffreys) and for him,” added the American president, seeing in the room the chairman of the black caucus of Congress, Stephen Horsford. – I also campaigned for him. You know they don’t talk to me anymore.”The oldest president in the history of the United States has repeatedly made embarrassing remarks on racial issues, recalls the New York Post.In January 2022, Biden told historically black students in Atlanta that he was arrested during African-American civil rights protests, but there is no evidence of this. In 2020, Biden sparked outrage when he said African-American voters “aren’t black” as long as they support incumbent President Donald Trump.Months later, the then-Democratic candidate was heavily criticized for saying black people were less diverse than Hispanics in terms of political thought. Biden also falsely claimed during the 2020 campaign that he “had the great honor of being arrested while trying to see (Nelson Mandela) on Robbens Island (which does not exist).” He later admitted that was not true.Biden also came under fire during the 2020 campaign when footage from 2017 surfaced of him reminiscing about little black children playing with his blonde hair on his legs while he was a lifeguard. In 2007, Biden praised fellow Democratic presidential candidate (and future boss) Barack Obama as “the first traditional African-American who is eloquent, flamboyant and pure”. “It’s a storybook, man,” Biden said familiarly.Note that on Monday, former Barack Obama doctor, now Republican Congressman Ronnie Jackson, said Biden, with his cognitive abilities, posed a threat to the United States.
