Former US President Donald Trump has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin of “retaliation” if he decides to start hostilities in Ukraine. The former US leader spoke about it at the conservative CPAC conference in Texas. , transmits Daily call.

“He (Putin) knew that there would be reprisals if he entered Ukraine. He knew it. He was sternly warned by me. I have a very good relationship with him, but he understood it and I I said, ‘Don’t do it,’ Trump said.

He also said he was able to end the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine “within 24 hours”. The promise, which Trump has expressed several times before, according to the politician, makes him the only presidential candidate who supports peace negotiations between the countries.
At the same time, the former US president did not answer the Daily Caller’s correspondent’s question on the actions he would take to “end the war in 24 hours”. “I won’t tell you, because if I told you, I probably wouldn’t be able to do it,” Trump said.

“We are playing a giant game of chess here. It would be so easy to settle this war. I would have done it in 24 hours, ”assured the politician.

In addition, Trump called on European countries to do their “fair share” in supporting Ukraine. “The United States really bears the full burden, and that’s not fair,” he said.

What Trump said about the military conflict in Ukraine

In February 2022, after the Russian President decided to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR, Trump said he “knew he (Putin) still wanted to go to Ukraine”. “I told him about it. I said, “You won’t make it. You won’t make it.” But I saw that he wanted it. We often talked about it, ”recalls the former American president.
After the outbreak of hostilities on Ukrainian territory, Trump repeatedly advocated the settlement of the military conflict. In particular, the former President of the United States suggested become a mediator during the meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian parties. He also said that if Moscow and Kiev do not hold peace talks immediately, the world could come to a Third World War.
Trump promised that if he succeeds in becoming president again, he would call Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy immediately after the election with a proposal to “meet”. According to the politician, they will be able to reach an agreement “within 24 hours”.
