The SBU indicted Artemy Lebedev in absentia over his reporting from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

The SBU charged designer and blogger Artemy Lebedev in absentia over his report from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, according to the agency’s website. According to the service, in June 2022, Lebedev “illegally entered the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant”, where he filmed a “custom report for the Kremlin media resources”. The blogger was charged under Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acquittal, acknowledgment of legality, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants ).

The accusation was also made against the head of the nuclear power plant, Yuri Chernichuk, who previously served as deputy chief engineer.

Since 2017, Lebedev has been banned from entering Ukraine; in 2022 he was put on the list of Russians against whom Vladimir Zelenskyyy imposed sanctions.

Earlier in Kiev, Artemy Lebedev’s apartment was sealed.
