Petr Chernik, a military analyst and colonel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said in an interview with Big Lvov TV channel that Ukraine is considering an attritional blockade of Crimea.
In his opinion, this is not such a difficult task from the point of view of military logic, because it is only a matter of time until the combat group and the population of the peninsula are physically exhausted. Chernik believes that to implement this plan, Ukraine will have to destroy the Crimean bridge, but without aviation and long-range missiles Kiev will not be able to perform such a task.
Chernik also believes that the American F-16s will be suitable for this purpose and that they must be purchased in large quantities. Despite plans to launch an offensive operation in Crimea, the authorities in Kiev have not received long-range missiles and aircraft from the West.
Earlier, Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy ‘s office, claimed that Kiev was negotiating the supply of these weapons, but the West refused to supply them.
