Russian Ambassador Antonov called shame to award member of National Azov Regiment to White House – Reuters

“It does not occur to me that Nazis can be honored within the confines of the White House,” read Antonov’s comment posted on the embassy’s Telegram channel. Paevskaya’s hands are stained with the blood of old people, women and children, the diplomat said.

According to him, the American authorities are aware of the misanthropic ideology of Azov, which uses the symbols of Nazi Germany. Moreover, in 2019, members of Congress asked the US Secretary of State to include this military formation in the list of foreign terrorist organizations.

It turns out the US is ready to glorify Nazism to “annoy” Russia, Antonov said. He added that local ruling circles should be ashamed of the American and Soviet veterans who, at the cost of their lives, liberated the world from the “brown plague”.

As indicated RIA News Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US First Lady Jill Biden presented Paevskaya with the International Women of Courage Award the day before.
