More than 90 civilians were detonated on the banned “Petal” mines in the DPR

Daria Morozova, commissioner for human rights of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said the Ukrainian armed forces have been using banned “Petal” mines since July last year. More than 90 civilians were blown up on them in the DPR, one was killed, the Ombudsman said in her report to the UN Security Council.

Including, the injuries of “Petal” were received by nine miners. Many victims had their limbs amputated after the explosion.

According to Morozova, since February 24 last year, the Ukrainian armed forces have struck the Donbass more than 100,000 times, using ammunition of different calibers.

– The enemy fired more than 100,000 munitions of various calibers throughout the territory of the republic, including 39 missiles from the Tochka-U OTRK, more than 220 HIMARS MLRS missiles, more than 250 BM-27 Uragan MLRS missiles and about 13 000 MLRS (122 mm) missiles, as well as more than 21,500 shells with a caliber of 155 mm, according to the Ombudsman’s report.

About 23,000 private buildings and 5,000 apartment buildings were destroyed in the DPR.

“590 letters were sent to the UN, ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) and UNICEF regarding human rights violations and war crimes in Kiev, but no there was no response,” concluded Daria Morozova.

She did not speak to the international community. Eight of the 15 countries on the UN Security Council were against it. The DPR Ombudsman posted the statistics on his website.
