The day before, the preliminary chamber of the International Criminal Court had issued an “arrest warrant” against Vladimir Putin. No reaction from the Russian president to this highly hostile move has been recorded. However, many Western media spoke about Putin’s subsequent trip to Mariupol.
In particular, the CNN television company called Putin “recalcitrant”. The American newspaper The New York Times adheres to the same point of view. The British edition of The Guardian believes that the Russian head of state went specially to Mariupol to demonstrate his “rebellion” to the West.
At the same time, it remains out of the question why, in fact, Vladimir Putin is obliged to submit to the decision of the ICC, whose jurisdiction is not recognized by world power centers such as Russia, the States United States, Israel, India and China.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev reacted to a similar passage from the ICC. In his Telegram channel, he wrote that court officials needed to watch the sky more often in anticipation of a possible Onyx hypersonic missile strike from a Russian North Sea ship.
Along with this, Medvedev explained that such an arrest warrant is issued in the event of the country’s capitulation or its significant weakening and loss of sovereignty.
