The deputy head of the department of the Russian Interior Ministry in Irkutsk, the city’s police chief German Brachikov, was found dead, RTVI told the press service of the Interior Ministry of the region. Irkutsk. Earlier in the media there were reports about his suicide.

“Yesterday at 2.35 p.m. the body (of German Brachikov) was found in one of the premises of the municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The circumstances and reasons are being established,” the service said. Interior Ministry press.

Information about Brachikov’s death appeared on March 19. Public “Police Ombudsman” in “Vkontakte” informed that the deputy director of the Irkutsk Interior Ministry committed suicide at his workplace.

According to telegram channels ASTRA And Base , Bratchikov committed suicide after a conference call with management. On March 19, he took up his daily duties and received a Makarov service pistol. Brachikov attended the meeting, after which he locked himself in his office and did not answer phone calls for six hours. Colleagues broke down the office door and discovered that Brachikov was dead.

At the same time, according to Baza, in 2019 Brachikov underwent psychological tests and no risk factors were identified in him. Two weeks before his death, he filed for divorce from his second wife.

On the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Irkutsk” said that Bratchikov was born in 1972 in Derbent. He entered the internal affairs bodies in 1996 after graduating from the Irkutsk Higher Military Aviation School. He was appointed to of deputy head of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2016, the same year he received the rank of colonel in the internal service. In July 2022, Brachikov was appointed to of deputy chief – police chief of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Irkutsk, with the rank of police colonel.
