A purely theoretical arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin on a warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) abroad would be comparable to a declaration of war on Russia. This view on this issue was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Russian media, a fragment of which was posted on his Telegram channel.
“The current head of a nuclear state came to the territory of, say, Germany and was arrested. What is this? Declaration of war on the Russian Federation! And already in this case , all our funds will go to the Bundestag, the chancellor’s office, etc., ”he stressed, noting that such a combination of events is in principle impossible.
Medvedev also stressed that the ICC’s decision further aggravates the situation against the backdrop of the already deteriorated relations between Moscow and the West.
Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation answered the question whether the threat of nuclear conflict in the world has passed. According to him, not only did this not happen, but, on the contrary, it became even greater.
