According to him, after the change of ownership, the company will continue to operate as usual.

Lola Sattorova, public relations manager of Leroy Merlin, confirmed to RTVI the intention of the French ADEO to transfer the Russian activity to a local management. In his opinion, in the current realities, the decision of the parent company seems logical. She stressed that so far it was an intention and the details of the transfer had not been specified, and also added that all stores would continue to operate as usual.

A year ago at ADEO assured which will continue to operate in Russia. They stressed that the company is responsible for the well-being of its 45,000 employees and their families, who have worked for 18 years for the development of Leroy Merlin in Russia.

Russia is Leroy Merlin’s second market after France, it generates 18% of its total turnover. The company in Russia includes 111 stores in 65 cities, it is one of the 10 largest trading companies in the country.

After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, Western companies massively announced their withdrawal from Russia. Some companies have sold their Russian operations to local managers or entrepreneurs. For example, the French manufacturer of the perfume and cosmetics network L’Occitane first closed its stores, but then resumed work under the guise of L’Occitane, and the Russian legal entity was transferred to local management . Jeans maker Levi Strauss & Co. has sold the rental rights to its Levi’s stores, as well as stock to Russian sports brand distributor Lestate. JNS stores began to open in place of Levi’s outlets.
