Undefeated Jesús Alejandro Ramos (20-0, 16 KOs) stopped Joey Spencer (16-1, 10 KOs) as the duo fought at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas on Saturday March 25. The heavyweight fight was one of the main events of the card, in which David Benavidez defeated Caleb Plant.
The fight, scheduled for ten rounds, did not go the full distance. After being knocked down with a left hook in the first round, the native of Casa Grande (Arizona, USA) continued to dominate and beat his opponent from Grand Blanc (Michigan) by technical knockout after the latter fired a corner in the sponge.
“I felt like I looked really good,” Ramos said. “After the first round knockdown, I got a little carried away with my strength, so it took me a while to start working on everything we practiced in the gym.”
Ramos thanked the opponent for the encounter.
“He’s a great fighter with a big heart. I hope we get another fighter like this. It makes the night interesting,” he said.
