March 31, 2023

A resident of Tambov crashed a rental car in an accident and sold it for scrap. A resident of the city of Morshansk rented a car in Primorsky Krai.

Representatives of the Morshansky department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs identified the identity of the crime suspect. A 31-year-old resident of Morshansk signed a car rental contract in Primorsky Krai late last year. For the first month, he paid the rent, then disappeared with the car. The search yielded results.

It turned out that the man arrived in his hometown at the beginning of this year and stopped paying for car rental, continuing to drive it. Then he crashed the car in an accident. After that, the lessee handed over the damaged car to the scrap metal collection point for 25,000 rubles. He spent the money for his needs.

Now the citizen of Tambov will have to reimburse the cost of the car to the owner, as well as the months of delay in renting a car under the contract.

An investigation is currently underway.
