The governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, ordered a complete control of the situation in Veroyarvi near Toksovo. Earlier, reports appeared on social media that activists had come to the defense of the natural park. Residents opposed the construction of a road to the cottage village on the site.
According to the press service of the administration, Drozdenko instructed to check the fact of the presence of fences on the unmarked territory of the protected area, to put up for sale land that does not have an access road, to accept the route to the protected area as well as compliance with the protected area regime.
The Directorate of Protected Areas of the Leningrad region, the Governor’s Control Committee, the Committee for Town Planning Policy and the Committee for Local Self-Government will be involved in the audit.
