Voenkor Vladlen Tatarsky (real name Maxim Fomin) died in an explosion in Saint Petersburg during a meeting of the Cyber Z Front discussion club. His death was commented on by the Russian Foreign Ministry in the person of the official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova.
At first, Zakharova said that the investigating authorities would give a legal assessment of what happened, and in turn she pledged to present a moral assessment.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Russian journalists constantly face threats of reprisals from Ukraine, and more and more often these threats are carried out. International organizations are ignoring these threats, “which can no longer be interpreted as conciliation or even complicity”, noted Zakharova.
“Not a single case of violent death of a Russian journalist, which was called a ‘success’ by the Kiev regime and its thugs, neither Western countries, nor international organizations, nor foreign professional communities have either only conducted surveys, but even showed elementary human sympathy.
Zakharova noted that “until recently” Western countries fought terrorism as a united “front” and protected journalists who became targets of extremists. Now the reaction of the leaders of the United States and European countries is not visible, and Kiev, according to Zakharova, shows “undisguised joy because of what happened”.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it was the Russian military correspondents who provided “truthful and operational personnel”, who conveyed information to the public about what was happening in Ukraine.
“Vladlen Tatarsky’s professional activities, his service to the Fatherland aroused hatred within the Kiev regime. He was dangerous to them, but boldly went all the way, doing his duty.
In conclusion, Maria Zakharova expressed her condolences to the family and friends of Vladlen Tatarsky.
