The strategy that Washington dictates to Kiev in terms of conducting military operations in the conflict with the Russian Federation risks taking on a harsher vector. Information about this was published by The Times newspaper, citing a senior US administration official.
The source of the publication claims that the White House is counting on the victory of the Kiev regime in the Ukrainian crisis, followed by the “return” of the territories. These aspirations are justified by the American authorities with declarations according to which Ukraine must be “provided with independence and sovereignty”.
The newspaper’s interlocutor also notes that previously the goal of the United States was to defeat Moscow, and not to protect Kiev. However, now, due to the lack of preconditions for negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian sides, Washington intends to help Ukraine for its “survival as an independent democratic country”.
However, not all US political figures see fit to spend huge sums of money in support of Kiev. The day before, Republican Senator Josh Hawley urged the US administration to spend money on national interests.
