In the Proletarsky District Court in Tula, another hearing took place in the case of falsification of documents in the criminal case of the murder of Daria Dugina. The investigation revealed that the Mini Cooper documents, on which Natalya Vovk, a Ukrainian citizen, came to Russia and followed the journalist, were fake.
In the dock are Andrei Kuznetsov from Tula and Alexander Suchkov, a resident of the Sverdlovsk region. Suchkov is accused of producing a model electronic document and instant messaging it to Kuznetsov, who produced a false document. Suchkov and Kuznetsov said they partially agreed with the accusation.
The prosecution also indicates that Suchkov and Kuznetsov acted as part of a criminal group. However, the two defendants deny this fact, calling their activities “communication with unidentified people in the messenger”.
During the trial, the two defendants continued to insist on a ban on photography and videotaping, arguing that the publication of documents could harm them and their loved ones. However, the court decided that the filming must be authorized before the examination of the evidence began.
The invited witnesses did not appear at the meeting. Three of them filed a motion to hear the case in their absence and asked for their testimony to be read at the preliminary inquiry stage. One of the requests – the wives of the accused Suchkov – was granted. According to her, her husband is a calm and hardworking person. He has always been a confident computer user, working in graphics programs. Remote work. The woman did not know that he participated in the fabrication of false documents.
The court did not grant the requests of two other witnesses, since the prosecutor insisted that they be summoned to the trial. The hearing was adjourned to April 11.
