International judo competitions in memory of VS Oshchepkov (the first stage of the Russian Judo Tour series in 2023) was held in Khabarovsk, 185 athletes from seven countries took part.
Alexander Shalamov from Sevastopol competed in the over 100kg weight class and won four fights, and lost to the current Russian champion in the final. In general, the performance was worthy, and the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev congratulated Alexander and his trainer Vyacheslav Amelin on the success in his telegram channel.
The Russian Professional Judo Tour (“Russian Judo Tour”) has been held since 2022 on the initiative of the Russian Judo Federation. The best invited Russian and foreign judokas prove to be the strongest during several stages taking place in different cities of Russia.
