WP: Evidence found that Trump obstructed investigation into documents

US Department of Justice and FBI investigators have gathered new evidence pointing to former President Donald Trump’s possible obstruction of an investigation into classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago residence. They were obtained while studying emails and text messages from a former Trump aide.
It should be noted that the investigators focused on the events after the receipt by the advisers of the ex-president of the request for the return of the secret documents. According to the Washington Post newspaper, it was possible to collect evidence that Trump, having received the request, examined the contents of the boxes with documents and decided to keep some of them for himself.
Recall, earlier Donald Trump said that during a search of his estate they found only files of secret documents, and not the papers themselves. According to the former president, there were no real documents, because during meetings in the Oval Office, the papers were removed from the files and the covers were left blank.
In February, the American television channel CNN reported that new secret documents had been discovered in the estate of Donald Trump. It was also reported that the documents had been handed over to the Ministry of Justice.
