The 88th Northern Festival continues in the Murmansk region. Within its framework, many sporting events of different levels have already taken place in the region. The last in the valley of comfort was the Yukigassen Open Cup of the Arctic Circle “For those who know about snow”.
“Yukigassen is a team snowball fight according to the rules, an exciting winter sport popular in the region,” explained the Ministry of Information Policy of the Murmansk region.
Such an unusual winter sport was first included in the program of the Polar Olympics only in 2023. Despite this, Yukigassen immediately began to be popular with northerners: 17 teams took part in it.
The winner of the competition was the Norilsk Nickel MTF team. The second and third places were occupied respectively by Arktika and UNO.
Earlier, The Eastern Herald in Murmansk said that northerners played mini-football at the Polar Olympics in the Arctic.
