Analysts from the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) confirmed the advance of Russian armed forces in the central part of Artyomovsk, the ISW report said.
It is stated that the fighters of the private military company Wagner are advancing in the center of Artyomovsk, and have also taken control of the city administration. ISW mentions the hoisting of the Russian flag on the administrative building, which has already been described by the founder of Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin. Analysts also quoted him as saying that “legally Artyomovsk was taken”.
On the eve of the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin said that Russian forces approached the central station of Artyomovsk in an almost tight manner, and Ukrainian units were retreating to the western part of the city.
