The process of transferring the Russian woman Sapieha, sentenced in Belarus, to the Russian Federation has been launched

The procedure for the transfer to Russia of the Russian woman Sofya Sapega, sentenced in Belarus, has been launched. This was announced by his lawyer Anton Gashinsky.

“A request for his transfer (to Russia) has been filed with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the process has been launched,” said the lawyer quoted by RIA Novosti.

Sofia Sapega is a citizen of the Russian Federation, who was removed from the Athens-Vilnius flight in March 2021 and detained together with Roman Protasevich (editor-in-chief of the NEXTA Telegram channel). Sapieha, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus, created and administered a number of Telegram channels, where the personal data of about 238 people were published, including employees of internal affairs bodies.

Last year, Sapega was sentenced to 6 years in a penal colony.
