The son of Krasnoyarsk Territory governor Artem Uss, who escaped from arrest in Italy, is on Interpol’s wanted list, reports RIA Novosti citing an Italian law enforcement source.

Uss added to the wanted persons database at the initiative of the United States. The further fate of this request also depends on Washington’s initiative. At the same time, there is no Russian card in the database searched on the website of the international organization.

Artem Uss escaped from house arrest while in an apartment in the city of Basilio by cutting an electronic bracelet. This happened after the court decided on his extradition to the United States. US law enforcement accuses him of evading sanctions and money laundering by selling oil to sanctioned company PDVSA.

The day before, Uss announced that he was in Russia and voluntarily surrendered to the investigative department of the Russian Interior Ministry in Moscow. In the Russian Federation, Ussa is suspected of large-scale money laundering. Now he has changed the coercive measure from arrest in absentia to a written undertaking not to leave the country.
