Warsaw is handing over four more Soviet MiG-29 fighters to Kiev, Polish President Andrzej Duda has said.
“Four MiGs – 29 from our stocks have already been transferred to the Ukrainian Air Force. Another 4 MiGs are currently being transferred,” Duda said.
In total, Poland will hand over 14 MiG-29s to the Ukrainian side, keeping copies upgraded to NATO standards.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived today in Poland for his first official visit, where he met his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda. Previously, Zelenskyy had been to Poland only for short working visits.
The Soviet and Russian MiG-29 fighter was designed to gain air superiority, as well as to destroy small ground targets.
