The Ministry of Labor issued the monthly statistical bulletin for the month of March 2023, which includes the most prominent statistics and figures of the labor sector in the country, as well as the results of inspection visits to various establishments, in addition to the statistics of the Department of Labor Relations and International Dispute Resolution Committees.
The statistical bulletin showed – according to a series of tweets via the Ministry of Labor’s account – that the ministry received about 7,450 requests for new recruitment, of which 5,551 were approved, and the remaining 1,899 were rejected. The bulletin also showed that the ministry received 3,583 requests to amend the profession, accepting 3,555 requests, and rejecting 28.
The number of work permit applications during the month of March reached 1,057, 381 of which were for issuing a new permit, 519 were for renewing the permit, 156 were for canceling a permit, and only one was for issuing a replacement for a lost permit.
The statistical bulletin mentioned the statistics of the inspection campaigns carried out by the Labor Inspection Department during the month of March, which aims to monitor the extent to which establishments comply with the laws and ministerial decisions concerned with regulating the labor market in the country. 114 records of violations against different companies.
As for the inspection tours of recruitment offices, the bulletin referred to a total of 257 inspection visits to recruitment offices, which resulted in 228 acceptance, 23 alerts sent to remove a violation, and 6 records issued.
Concerning labor complaints, the statistical bulletin showed that the Labor Relations Department received complaints from the establishment’s workers against the establishment with about 2097 complaints, of which 521 complaints were settled, 234 complaints were referred, and about 1342 complaints remained under the procedure. As for cases of reporting by the public, the total number of complaints reached 68, all of which were settled.
According to the monthly statistical bulletin with regard to the labor dispute settlement committees, the number of cases referred to the dispute settlement committees during the past month amounted to about 1052 cases, and the total number of decisions issued by the labor dispute settlement committees reached about 623 decisions (between final and delisting decisions). About 945 decisions are still under procedure.
