Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts brought against him by the prosecution before the criminal court before which he appeared before in New York, today, for trial on charges related to a moral case.
Trump, who was released pending the case and left the courtroom, faces many charges that the secret court lifted, including paying bribes before the 2016 presidential election, conspiracy and falsifying commercial records, but he denies the charges.
Trump described, in tweets on social media, his summons to appear before the criminal court in Manhattan, New York, as an event "surrealist". And he said "I can’t believe this is happening in America".
Earlier today, the former US president arrived at the criminal court in Manhattan, New York, for trial on charges related to a moral case, becoming the first former US president or in power to face criminal charges, as he is making another attempt to reach the presidency. New York witnessed a heightened security alert before his appearance in court. It is noteworthy that Donald Trump assumed the presidency of the United States from 2017 to 2021, and he was held accountable in Congress twice, the first in 2019 due to behavior related to Ukraine, and the second in 2021 due to his supporters attacking the congressional building, and Congress acquitted him both times.
