More than 500 Russian civil servants lost their jobs in 2022 due to a loss of trust due to corruption. The data was announced by Aslan Yusufov, deputy head of the department for supervising the implementation of anti-corruption legislation in the Prosecutor General’s Office.

During the year, law enforcement revealed more than 35,000 corruption offenses. The damage caused by their commission amounted to 56.5 billion rubles. 105,000 people committed violations related to the performance of anti-corruption functions.

“For these violations, 52,000 people were brought to disciplinary liability, more than 500 officials were dismissed for loss of trust. And we have identified about 4,000 people among those who have not taken steps to resolve the conflict of interest,” RBC quotes the speaker.

During the year, the number of investigated crimes in the field of corruption increased by one and a half times – up to 2.7 thousand. Security forces are revealing increasingly serious schemes. In order to return the stolen funds to the budget, property worth a total of 76.6 billion rubles was seized and valuables worth 12.7 billion rubles were confiscated.

This year, Russia passed a bill to abolish the publication of income statements of deputies and senators of the State Duma. According to the Kremlin, this will not affect the fight against corruption.
