Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

“Right in kings”: a young checkers player from Orel became the champion of Russia

Egor Solovyov is only 9 years old, but he has already become the winner of the Russian Ladies Championship for athletes under 11 years old. The young athlete has two draws and five wins in his piggy bank.

As journalists of the Oryol State Broadcasting and Television Company reported, Yegor Solovyov, who has been playing checkers for almost 5 years, won the All-Russian competition. It was the first major award not only for the young chess player, but also for his coach David Khabuliani.

“It was a great result. Not to say it was predictable. It’s always a tough tournament.” said the mentor.

The victory in the Russian championship was for Yegor Solovyov the reason for receiving the first sports category. The boy first learned about checkers from his parents, after which he began to play this game. Egor rightly dreams of becoming a world chess champion.
