Hundreds of Palestinians barricade themselves in Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem

Hundreds of Palestinians barricaded themselves in Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount, Israeli media reported.

As noted, clashes between the Palestinians and the police are possible in the near future, who are ready to use forceful methods of influence against them. Currently, the Israeli police are already in the compound, where the Al-Aqsa Mosque is located.

Police said they were “committed to maintaining peace and security” and promised to help believers fulfill their religious duty.

Previously, Jordanian authorities had warned Israel to avoid the forced evacuation of Palestinians hiding inside the mosque, noting that this would lead to more violence.

This week there have been repeated clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police on the Temple Mount. There have been rocket attacks against Israel from Lebanese territory and from the Gaza Strip, as well as a series of terrorist attacks against Israelis.
