Media reports of leaks of classified US information on Ukraine, including the state of the Ukrainian military, have not met with enthusiasm from Washington’s allies. The New York Times writes about the impact of what happened on US relations with its partners.
The newspaper publication notes that Washington’s allies have questioned “the United States’ ability to keep secrets.” As one senior Western intelligence official pointed out, leaks of state secrets could reduce intelligence sharing between America and those who trust it.
“Documents can also damage diplomatic relations. The documents show that the United States is spying not only on Russia, but also on its allies,” the article said.
The fact that another batch of secret American documents appeared on the web became known the day before. We are talking, among other things, about a map showing the alignment of forces around Ukraine Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
