Trudeau: Canada to send new military aid package to Ukraine

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Ottawa will send a new military aid package to Kiev, which will include machine guns, machine guns and ammunition.

“I am announcing the new measures taken by Canada to support the Ukrainian people,” tweeted Trudeau.

Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a press conference in Toronto. The visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Canada is associated with reports that Kiev is “seeking additional military assistance for the spring counteroffensive”.

In early April, the Pentagon announced that the United States would transfer a large shipment of ammunition, weapons and military equipment to Ukraine under a new $2.6 billion aid package.
