Preparing for Easter: Use These 5 Natural Egg Dyes

– Published on:

On the eve of Easter, many are wondering how to dye eggs with natural dyes so that they are bright, do not get their hands dirty and do not cause allergies. We tell you which dyes you can use. Everything will certainly be in your kitchen.

onion skin

Traditional method. If you want the eggs to be burgundy, add the white and red onion husks to the pan, cover with water, bring to a boil and cook for 30 minutes over medium heat. Cool the dye. Then add the raw eggs and cook them over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Take the eggs out of the pan, put them on a paper towel and let them dry.

Beet

Squeeze the juice from red beets with a juicer, pour it into a saucepan and dip the pre-cooked eggs in it. To get a pink color, just leave the eggs in the dye for 2-3 hours. In order for the eggs to turn fuchsia, they need to sit in beetroot juice overnight.

If there is no juicer, grate the beets on a coarse grater, transfer them to a saucepan and cover with water. Add a tablespoon of vinegar to 1 liter of water and boil the beets for 15 minutes over low heat. The dye is ready.

Carrot

Squeeze the carrot juice, dip the pre-cooked white eggs in it and leave for a while in the tincture. You can preserve them in juice for five minutes to several hours. It all depends on how rich the orange color you need.

Green tea

Brew loose green tea with boiling water at the rate of 100 g of tea per liter of water. Leave to infuse for 5 minutes. Steep pre-cooked eggs in tea for 15-20 minutes so that they turn turquoise.

Coffee

Add instant coffee to the coffee maker and fill it with warm water in the ratio of 10 teaspoons per 1 liter of water. Put the pre-cooked eggs in a saucepan, put on low heat and bring to a boil. The eggs come out nicely brown.
