Ukraine has signed an agreement on the supply of uranium concentrate to Canada

October 3, 2025

Ukraine’s national nuclear power generation company Energoatom has reached an agreement with Cameco on the supply of uranium concentrate to Canada, reports the press service of the National Energy Commission.

“The document regulates the physical supply of uranium concentrate from Ukraine to Canada and related conditions,” the news service’s Telegram channel said.

It is clarified that we are talking about the supply to Canada of the entire volume of uranium mined at the Eastern Mining and Processing Plant, as well as the subsequent use of uranium concentrate for the conversion and the supply of natural uranium hexafluoride for enrichment.

This agreement was the last necessary step for the implementation of the program of using Ukrainian uranium in the production of nuclear fuel for nuclear substations.

The company also noted that we are talking about an agreement on sampling, weighing, analysis, as well as storage and organization of transport of the concentrate.
