Al-Burhan and Hemedti talk to Al-Jazeera: Who started the attack? .. And who controls the land?

The head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, the commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and his deputy, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti), spoke to Al-Jazeera Network about the clashes that have been taking place since the morning in several Sudanese regions.

Al-Burhan said, to “Al Jazeera”It was the Rapid Support Forces who attacked the army headquarters in the guest house, which is the residence of the head of the Sovereignty Council, and he expressed his surprise that the Rapid Support Forces attacked his house at nine in the morning (Sudan time). The head of the Sovereignty Council added that the Rapid Support Forces harassed the army in the Sports City area (south of the capital, Khartoum), which sparked today’s clashes.

According to the head of the Sovereignty Council in Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces infiltrated Khartoum Airport through the Hajj and Umrah hall, indicating that they had burned some planes, adding that the armed forces had dealt with the Rapid Support elements at the airport.

Al-Burhan confirmed that no one was able to enter the Sudanese Army General Command, and that all the strategic facilities of the Army Command and the Republican Palace are under control, in response to the Rapid Support Command’s announcement that it had taken control of the guest house, the Republican Palace, and the airports of Khartoum and Meroe.

The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council called for the rapid support forces that entered Khartoum to be returned to their places, adding that if the state of war continues, the army will enter its forces into Khartoum from different regions, and said that the army “Good precautions and rules he hasn’t moved yet”.

Hamidti: The palace, airports, and general command are in the hands of our forces. On the other hand, Hamidti confirmed that his forces control the guesthouse, the presidential palace, the general command of the army, and all airports.

Hamidti said – in an intervention with Al-Jazeera – that his forces neutralized all the planes on which Al-Burhan relied, and added that the Rapid Support Forces had no enmity with the army. “We did not attack anyone, and our fighting is a response to our siege and attack on us, and today we were surprised by large forces that surrounded our forces in the land of the camps, and our affairs are very good and we control all the headquarters”.

Hamidti accused the head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, of carrying out a conspiracy by supporters of the ousted President Omar Al-Bashir.

The Rapid Support Commander expressed his regret “To fight with our people, but (Al-Burhan) forced us to do so. The fighting was imposed on us after the assault and siege on us. The battle will be decided in the coming days.

And sent a message to “Honorable members of the armed forces to join the people’s choice”. And he said “And we represent that. Democracy has a price, and I am giving the best of my youth now for that”.

added that “More than 100 officers and thousands of soldiers from the armed forces surrendered to us, we took control of the airports, to prevent them from targeting us with planes”stressing that the Rapid Support headquarters are fixed, and the talk about controlling them is a lie”.

The capital, Khartoum, and several Sudanese cities are witnessing violent clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, as the army closed the bridges and roads leading to the presidential palace in central Khartoum with heavy armor, and deployed artillery and armored vehicles in the city of Omdurman.
