For the second day in Sudan, clashes took place between the regular army and the rapid reaction forces from the militias.
According to Kommersant, the armed conflict occurred because the regular army wanted to integrate the rapid reaction forces militias in order to implement an agreement to return Sudan to civilian rule.
The military aviation, subordinate to the official authorities, inflicted heavy air strikes on the positions of the rebel special forces in Khartoum and the surrounding area. Fighting continues in the streets, capturing new parts of the country.
At least 56 people have already been killed and up to 596 injured, Reuters reports. In addition, the death of three employees of the World Food Program became known, the press service of the UN mission in the country said. The UN Security Council has condemned the violence and called on both sides to resume negotiations, while the organisation’s secretary general, António Guterres, has offered to help organize the dialogue.
